This is how to unzip/extract compressed files in linux.

FILETYPE: .tar.gz

RUN: #tar -zxvf [filename]

FILETYPE: .tgz

RUN: #tar -zxvf [filename]

FILETYPE: .tar, bz2

RUN: #tar -jxvf [filename]

FILETYPE: .zip

RUN: #unzip [filename]

FILETYPE: .rar

RUN: #unrar -f [filename.rar]
